O ombro é a terceira causa de atendimentos e atinge 7 a 30% da população em geral. O maior público atingido são as mulheres e conforme o aumento da idade, mais altas as chances de lesão. Os diagnósticos que uma pessoa com dor no ombro pode receber de um médico especialista são: síndrome do impacto e as roturas parciais no manguito rotador.
CAUSAS
. Traumas: quedas com apoio do braço ou ombro e pancadas durante a prática esportiva.
. Degeneração pelo envelhecimento: tendões naturalmente apresentam pequenas lesões pelo próprio envelhecimento que pode ou não causar dores.
. Desequilíbrio muscular: podem ocasionar alterações no movimento correto das articulações e criar tensão excessiva em alguns músculos.
. Disfunção da Escápula: alterações no movimento e posição da escápula podem levar a dores nos ombros.
. Tensão muscular: músculos tensos podem irradiar dores para os ombros.
OUTRAS CAUSAS:

SINTOMAS
Geralmente não é possível identificar apenas um ponto de dor nos ombros, muitas vezes ela pode mudar de lugar e ser inespecífica. É habitual ao apontar o local de dor colocar a mão inteira sob o ombro e descrever uma dor espalhada e, muitas vezes uma dor que vai para região do braço.
TRATAMENTO
. Dor: a utilização de gelo por 20 minutos a cada duas horas pode auxiliar na diminuição da dor, principalmente em casos agudos.
. Alongamento: alongar o músculo peitoral e o trapézio pode ajudar a aumentar a mobilidade do ombro e relaxar tensões na região do ombro.
. Liberação miofascial: é o relaxamento tanto da musculatura quando dos tecidos mais profundos (fáscias) que promovem melhora da dor e aumento da amplitude de movimento do ombro. Ela é realizada com bolinhas e rolinhos e também cremes aplicados pelo fisioterapeuta.
. Fortalecimento muscular: exercícios que podem ser realizados com elásticos ou pesos de 1kg para ativação dos músculos do ombro e escápula que ajudam na correção dos desequilíbrios musculares. Eles podem ser realizados em casa, porém sempre com auxilio ou acompanhamento de um fisioterapeuta.
PREVENÇÃO
Mudança de hábitos: posturas inadequadas no trabalho ou em casa durante tarefas no computador ou atividades domésticas podem causar com o tempo dores nos ombros. Exercícios na academia sendo realizados de forma incorreta e com muito peso podem levar a dores também. Sendo assim, as boas posturas adotadas durante o dia e exercícios feitos de forma regular com o acompanhamento de um profissional podem manter a boa saúde e funcionamento do ombro.
